3 ways to end your wedding day - sparklers, arm of guards and hug circle
You are nearly there, you’ve booked and arranged all the vendors (we look forward to capturing your big day!), completed the guest list and seat plan, have the catering all set but you are just wondering how to complete your perfect wedding day! Well you have come to the right place, with over 13 years of experience here at SMC Studios, we have certainly seen a few weddings and wanted to share a few ideas with you!
As you know, the wedding day usually concludes with some dancing after those amazing speeches, and then guest start to slowly depart after an amazing day! But what if you are looking for a more exciting end to cap off your wedding day? As photographers and videographers we are always looking for those unique shots as you depart your wedding day in whichever mode of transport you have choose, be that a simple taxi (as we are certainly hope you have enjoyed yourself on your wedding day and can’t drive!), a vintage car or maybe even a boat to go straight onto your honeymoon with. But how to make this memorable? See below for some of our favourite examples!
We always think that the walk through the sparklers always creates some beautiful, amazing images, and who doesn’t love a sparkler! Besides the great images it can create, some advantages of this are the minimal clean-up it entails and the simplicity and low costs of sparklers. There are of course numerous variations on this theme, with some other examples we love seeing is bubbly being showered onto the newlyweds with (you may prefer to stay dry so stick with sparklers!) or bubbles are also a lot of fun (maybe a preferable option if your wedding day has a lot of young children, all children (and adults!) love bubbles and also safer than the sparkler alternative).
Or why not consider some final beautiful and authentic moments with your guests that we can capture? For finishing your wedding day this could include an arm of guards, where your guests create an aisle of love and well wishes for you to exit your wedding day with! Or a hug circle beside your mode of transport is a really sweet and beautiful way to wrap up your wedding day, and is a last chance to maybe get some authentic, beautiful happy tear photos!
Finally, there is the traditional option which involves you, the happy couple being showered with things! The list of possible things is only really limited by your imagination, and maybe what you are happy to clean up (perhaps clean up could be a wedding present from the in-laws? haha)! Traditionally rice and wheat are tossed to indicate prosperity and good luck for the newly married couple. Or maybe you could look to make it more personal? Do you as a couple love books or music? You could potentially make confetti out of old books or sheet music. Or maybe you love the sparkle of glitter and wish to be covered by it! Finally, a few environmentally nice options maybe fallen leaves if an autumn wedding (also free which is nice!) or birdseed or plant seeds if the wedding day exit is in an area that allows this.
Well hope a few of those ideas are appealing to you! And if you are still looking for a wedding photographer or videographer (or why not both!), if so we would love to chat!
We look forward to seeing you on your wedding day!
