How much are wedding photographers and videographers?

But how can you be sure that our prices are great value? Research of course! So I guess starting at the cheapest option, is the family member or friend who enjoys taking photos and/or video. In some cases this can even be free! But as the saying goes, that is too good to be true! And unfortunately in many cases it is. Your wedding day is a hectic day, with many moving pieces. Would your friend or family member know about timeframes? And with all the dancing and movement, are they really as good as they claim? Because your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event, and you can not get that blurry shot back. You wouldn’t want to miss that first kiss. So unless you are lucky enough to have a professional as a friend or family member, we definitely would not recommend this option. You can expect to pay around $600 - $1000 for this option though.
Next, would be the photographers or videographers who are just starting out, and are yet to build up a lot of experience. With this, the costs are usually on the lower end, as they are looking to build up this experience and skill and to do this will offer their services at a lower rate. But again, with this lack of experience, you cannot have full confidence your day will be captured as beautifully as possible. This can be around $1200 - $2000 for just photography or just videography.
Above this would be tier we occupy, where the photographers and videographers have experience and can capture your day truthfully. But you may be asking what sets us apart from others? Our prices can range from $2000 - $2500 per service for a full day package.

Finally, the last tier would be premium wedding photographer and videographers where services such as additional photographers and videographers are included, and such things as drone shots and extensive lighting set ups are included (don’t worry, our photographers carry flashes!). With all these additional inclusions, prices can go above $10,000.00 for these photographers and videographers.
But here at SMC Studios, we want to ensure our couples have an affordable option without compromising value. With the average for a wedding photographer in Australia being around $3,200, and for a wedding videographer it is around $2,700, we are proud to say our prices are competitive with these, without compromising value for our beautiful couples!
